El término “Send Nudes”, incorporado por la cultura digital, transformó la manera en que compartimos nuestra intimidad. Millones de imágenes circulan diariamente entre dispositivos como gestos privados de deseo, confianza y seducción. Estas fotografías, producidas fuera del circuito artístico tradicional y creadas desde una experiencia íntima, permanecen generalmente confinadas al espacio personal del teléfono: vistas por quien las envía y por quien las recibe.
En esta serie, selecciono y traslado a la pintura fotografías que fueron enviadas con la intención de seducirme. A través de este desplazamiento, una imagen destinada a la fugacidad de una conversación privada adquiere una nueva existencia dentro del espacio público del arte.
La obra se pregunta qué define aquello que consideramos seductor: qué decisiones toma una persona al construir una imagen de sí misma para otro y qué expectativas deposita en la mirada ajena. La seducción aparece como un territorio subjetivo donde el cuerpo se convierte en mensaje, representación y búsqueda de conexión.
Las pinturas exploran la tensión entre intimidad y exposición, entre deseo y archivo, entre la identidad que construimos para ser vistos y la forma en que esas imágenes continúan circulando una vez que abandonan su contexto original. Las fotografías funcionan como retratos contemporáneos atravesados por la lógica de los perfiles digitales: fragmentos de identidad construidos dentro de plataformas donde el cuerpo también se vuelve lenguaje.
La serie comenzó a partir de imágenes recibidas directamente a través de aplicaciones de citas y posteriormente incorporó fotografías obtenidas mediante convocatorias. Está compuesta por aproximadamente cincuenta obras realizadas en acrílico sobre papel y, en sus últimas etapas, mediante dibujo digital.
El traslado de estas imágenes desde el ámbito privado hacia el espacio artístico evidencia una contradicción propia de la cultura contemporánea: mientras la intimidad sexual circula masivamente dentro de los dispositivos digitales, su presencia en espacios institucionales continúa generando tensiones, especialmente cuando se trata del cuerpo masculino y de representaciones explícitas del deseo.
Sedúceme no busca representar únicamente el cuerpo desnudo, sino explorar qué ocurre cuando una imagen creada para una mirada privada se convierte en una pregunta pública sobre deseo, identidad y circulación de la intimidad.
ENGLISH: The term “Send Nudes,” introduced by digital culture, transformed the way we share intimacy. Millions of images circulate daily between devices as private gestures of desire, trust, and seduction. These photographs, created outside traditional artistic circuits and born from intimate experiences, generally remain confined to the personal space of the phone: seen only by the person who sends them and the person who receives them.
In this series, I select and transfer into painting photographs that were sent to me with the intention of seducing me. Through this displacement, an image originally destined for the fleeting nature of a private conversation acquires a new existence within the public space of art.
The work questions what defines what we consider seductive: the decisions a person makes when constructing an image of themselves for another person, and the expectations placed upon the gaze of the other. Seduction appears as a subjective territory where the body becomes a message, a representation, and a search for connection.
The paintings explore the tension between intimacy and exposure, between desire and archive, between the identity we construct in order to be seen and the way these images continue to circulate once they leave their original context. The photographs function as contemporary portraits shaped by the logic of digital profiles: fragments of identity constructed within platforms where the body also becomes a language.
The series began with images received directly through dating applications and later incorporated photographs obtained through open calls. It consists of approximately fifty works made with acrylic on paper and, in its later stages, through digital drawing.
The displacement of these images from the private sphere into the artistic space reveals a contradiction inherent to contemporary culture: while sexual intimacy circulates massively through digital devices, its presence within institutional spaces continues to generate tensions, especially when it involves the male body and explicit representations of desire.
Seduce Me does not seek merely to represent the nude body, but rather to explore what happens when an image created for a private gaze becomes a public question about desire, identity, and the circulation of intimacy.
